SUPERFINE PLAYA | A California Osteria

Dina and Steve Samson are back on the Westside with Superfine Playa - a California osteria serving light and bright Italian highlighting fresh, local produce and true California vibes. Located at Silicon Beach’s Runway Playa Vista, the duo offers a full-service dinner experience, happy hour, and counter service weekend brunch.

Superfine Playa features house-made pastas, wood-grilled meats and fish, and dishes highlighting seasonal produce. Chefs Dresden Kaiser and Salomon Gomez are leading up the kitchen alongside Steve. There is also a full-service bar with craft cocktails by Ella Zoller of Honey House. Ella also curates the beer list. The wine list, which focuses on family growers and winemakers, is curated by James Saidy and Dina Samson. Soon, they will also serve a hybrid NY and Neapolitan-style pizza made famous by Steve at Superfine Pizza in Downtown LA.

The Samsons have lived in the area for more than 15 years, and together with their twins Gaia and Luca, they are thrilled to be opening a restaurant in their beloved Playa Vista.

Is there parking nearby?

No more stressing about where to park when going out to eat. We offer two hours free parking validation to the parking garage next door.

When will you serve Superfine pizza?

Do you do takeout and delivery?

Yes! We prefer you use Chow Now which will have the best pricing for both you and us.

But we also offer takeout and delivery through GrubHub, DoorDash, and UberEats.

Do you make donations?

The Samsons are currently committed to a group of local schools. Dina has also co-founded two non-profit organizations which support women and independent restaurant owners in Los Angeles. Steve works with organizations to feed those most in need. A lot of their time and donations go to these organizations. You can read about their commitment to community here.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

We can satisfy any dietary needs with delicious dishes Chef Steve and the team have created. Check out our menus.

How many seats does the restaurant have?

The restaurant has 86 indoor seats (includes 16 at a communal bar and 10 bar seats), and 40 outdoor seats (includes 20 on the patio and 20 on the terrace).

Can I hold my event in your restaurant?

Yes! We can plan special events for 2-150 guests. Please visit our events page and complete our intake form so that our Events Manager, Ealyssa, can discuss your needs.

What are those white pot lids doing in your planters in front of the restaurant?

Our landscape designer, SunMonsters, uses this ancient technique to water our garden. These white ceramic pots are called ollas and we refill them with water as needed. The plants actually draw the water out of the olla when they need it. This is a great sustainable way to keep our garden looking beautiful.

Do you have brunch?

Yes! Every weekend from 11am-3pm.
Last reservation is at 2:45pm.

What is your corkage fee?

We have amazing wines from all over the world curated by James Saidy and Dina Samson with bottles of wine ranging from $45-$160. However, if you have a special bottle of wine you just have to try with our food, corkage is $30 per 750mL bottle (two-bottle maximum). This fee is  waived per bottle purchased from our list.
